Excellent, thanks again. The price is the same as the other tracks in Prague I think.
As for the buses, I looked them up and found that 204 and 244 (they seem to be the same route) go from very near where we are staying, just west of the river, so that's excellent!
I agree, it looks like a nice track. Actually, it's nice to have a glass roof, most tracks are dark and dirty places! You can even see the track through the glass roof on google maps (just!)
My only cornern was how to get there, because it doesn't seem to be near a metro stop. Is there a tram or train station nearby? Or is it possible to walk there from the centre?
How much did you pay when you went? 200Kc for a 10 minute race? Did you have to pay a track hire or helmet hire fee too?
Great photos by the way. Where was that LFS simulator?
Edit: That's good that they have 12 karts. I emailed the Areal track and they said they only have 6 cars in each race, which isn't so good for 8 people :/
I'm going to Prague in a few weeks and looking to go karting with another couple of LFSers. I'd be grateful for some advice on which would be the best to go for:
Centrum is the longest (almost 800m)), but there are only 8 of us so it might be too long for close racing. They are all the same price (200Kc for a 10 min race).
Clearly Centrum is the longest, but there are only 8 of us os it might be too long for close racing. Any reccomendations on which to go for? They are all the same price (200Kc for a 10 min race).
Will definately get some practice in on this layour if we go for centrum!
Does anyone else think that this week's races are too long? I think for a post-season fun week shorter races would have been better.
I'm not really enjoying the Legends car. It is a thrill to drive in some respects because it's pretty twitchy but I don't seem to be able to find a rhythm in it. I don't think I'll be driving it again, especially because I find the Solstice feels very realistic which gets me really immersed in the game. I think if I was American and understood what the Legends is about I would enjoy it more, but as it is I can relate to the Solstice so much better.
Ok, I didn't realise they were allowing that at the moment but it does make sense. Hopefully they will allow it for one more season, I'm still at noob pace in the Solstice (and still enjoying it )
According to the rules you can't do it though:
"2.9.2.In all cases – except Rookie Series – drivers may “race down,” participating in series primarily intended for drivers at lower license levels.
2.9.3.Rookie Series are open only to rookie license holders."
I was in that race last night too. It was really close right through the field. I had to push really hard to try and keep up as most of the guys were about half a second quicker than me, which resulted in a couple of mistakes and a few lost places but at least I beat my PB again Just realised that in order to race in the Autumn Skippy league I will also need to buy 2 tracks (Infineon and VIR) - another $45! Also it's a bit of a shame that I won't be able to race as a Rookie again after Friday but hopefully there will be plenty of Class D drivers by then.
Ok, the situation just got weirder. I can spectate and not lose my connection, but if I join, I do. I don't have any idea what's causing it, but I think it might be some parental locks my parents were stupid enough to put on me (even though I can get around them :razz
Yes, that's right. I'm not sure whether you can buy a long subscription straight off, you may have to get 1 month trial subscription ($20) first and extend it later.
I think I'll give it another 3 months. That will give me time to have some fun with the Skippy and see how the full release goes. Also, I can use the $10 credit which comes with the 3 month sub with the $2.50 I got fromt he trial to almost cover the cost of the Skippy. Then I'll decide then whether or not to continue.
Although I think the price is high for a game, I don't think it's entirely unreasonable given the costs of creating the game and running the series. The problem for us LFSers is that LFS is such a bargain!
Have been reading this thread for a while and couldn’t resist the temptation to give iracing a go. Thanks to Gil for the code I’m making steady progress in the Solstice, got my PB at LR into the 1:04s now and running consistently. The Solstice is more fun to drive than I was expecting, and I particularly enjoy it because of the similarities with my MX5, which I am too frightened to take to a real track. Hoping to get my SR up to 4 this week and then invest in a Skippy! A couple of questions though, can anyone explain the colour coding on the ”relative” display? I think blue means 1 lap down, but I’m not sure about the others. Also, I assume it is not possible to save replays yet?
I got back from camp today and I wanted to play LFS, except that whenever I go onto a server, I'm on it for at least a minute, then I'll lose connection. I trouble-shot, tested my connection on other programs, but it doesn't seem to be a problem with anything else. Could it be a problem with the program itself or should I keep trying to fix my connection?
I can't wait for the improved collisions and break-off wings. That is really going to change the way we race online. To me the FBM seems almost indestructable at times at the moment. But I'll try and be patient...
I made this start gate based off of a doubles drift server I was on and I thought it was a pretty cool idea. You leave the pits in the parking spaces and then you advance to the line. I didn't come up with the idea, but I did put in the effort to create it. So now you can have one to work off of!
It looks like a cheap knock-off of a Smart car. And last I heard, the Chinese aren't exactly, um, good (for lack of a better word), at making cars safe and reliable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7VSHCgjbt0 <-- The Chinese Cherry Amulet
